About

What is Fullerverse?

Fullerverse is the fictional universe in which all of the shows created by Bryan Fuller are implied to take place. The shows included in Fullerverse are Dead Like Me, Wonderfalls, Pushing Daisies, Mockingbird Lane, and Hannibal.

The Curse of Fullerverse

Up until Hannibal, none of Bryan Fuller’s shows made it past a second season. Dead Like Me had two seasons, Wonderfalls had one, Pushing Daisies had two, and Mockingbird Lane didn’t even make it past the pilot. However, the curse has finally been broken as NBC announced Hannibal has been renewed for its third season.

Outside Fullerverse

Fuller has produced/written for several other shows such as Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager, and Heroes. He has also written for a few TV movies (Carrie, The Amazing Screw-On Head) and is currently working on one called High Moon.

Crossovers in Fullerverse

Marianne Marie Beetle (Beth Grant) first appears in the Wonderfalls episode “Muffin Buffalo”, and then appeared in the Pushing Daisies episode “Comfort Food” as well as in the pilot of Mockingbird Lane.

Gretchen Speck-Horowitz (Chelan Simmons) first appears in the Wonderfalls episode “Pink Flamingos” and then appears in the Hannibal episode “Amuse-bouche,” reverting to her maiden name after her divorce.

Georgia Lass is the leading lady in Dead Like Me and was reinvented as Georgia Madchen in the Hannibal episodes “Buffet Froid” and “Relevés”, both played by Ellen Muth.

The Georgia’s of Dead Like Me and Hannibal have similar last names. “Lass” is an English synonym for girl while “Mädchen” is a German word meaning the same.

Georgia Lass in Dead Like Me is a grim reaper (so simultaneously dead and alive). Georgia Madchen in Hannibal suffers from a medical condition called Cotard’s Syndrome in which she is convinced she is actually dead although she is alive.

Reggie Lass from Dead Like Me (Britt McKillip) is reimagined as Miriam Regina Lass (Anna Chlumsky) in Hannibal episodes “Entrée”, “Futamono”, and “Yakimono.”

In the Hannibal episode “Takiawase”, an acupuncturist (Amanda Plummer) who lobotomized patients is named Katherine Pimms, which is also the cover name used by Charlotte “Chuck” Charles (Anna Friel) in multiple episodes of Pushing Daisies.

In the Hannibal episode “Takiawase”, the first victim of the killer acupuncturist Katherine Pimms was found dead with bee hives inside of him. In Pushing Daisies, when Chuck assumes the pseudonym Katherine Pimms, she is undercover at a company that makes beauty products from honey and whose employee was found stung to death by bees.

In the Pushing Daisies episode “Bzzzzzzzzz!”, Ned the pie maker says he works for Happy Time Temp Agency while going undercover, which is where Georgia Lass works in Dead Like Me.

The fictional brand “Lil’ Ivey’s” first appeared in the Wonderfalls episode “Cocktail Bunny” on a box of cocktail cherries and later appears in the Pushing Daisies episode “Kerplunk”, but on a bag of macaroni.

The dog who plays J.D, Reggie Lass’s dog (that dies) in Dead Like Me, also plays Digby, Ned’s dog that he brought back to life in Pushing Daisies.
